We are a guitar and gear review site registered at https://guitarkitty.com. We also write about things we find interesting and anything we think you might find helpful in your guitar journey. 

How We Handle Comments

If you leave comments on any post on our site, we collect your information and we may also be able to see your IP address and might use that to prevent our site against spam.

If you have provided your email, an undetectable string is made from that, and provided to Gravatar service. After approval, the picture is shown publicly with your comment. 

How We Handle Media

We suggest that you do not upload images with EXIF GPS which may lead to others tracking your location from the embedded location data.

Anybody who visits the site can easily access the data if you upload media with EXIF GPS information.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies to store your name, email and site so you can conveniently fill those in while commenting. THe cookies last for an year.

Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

The articles on GuitarKitty may include content embedded from other sites. By visiting this site, you agree that you are responding to the embedded content as if you were visiting the other site.

Is Your Data Kept On The Site?

Comments and the corresponding metadata are kept indefinitely. This is so that we can automate the process of recognizing and approving any follow-up comments you may want to do in the future.

If you have opted to register for our site (well.. in the future), we do store whatever information your profile holds. You may see, change or delete your data on our site at any site but cannot change your username. Website admins can also view and change that information.

What rights you have over your data

You can ask us to remove any information we have regarding you. If you’ve previously left comments on this site, you can also ask us for a file containing the data we have on you, which includes whatever information you have provided us.

This, however, excludes any data we are legally obliged to keep for legal or security reasons.
